Perfectly Competent
I've felt the pull to dust off the old film cameras lately so, full of hope and enthusiasm, I put a roll of Kodak Gold in a Pentax P50 at the end of summer last year, perfect for some warm-toned late summer shots... and there it sat until I finally pulled my finger out months later. I don’t love this camera but it was the only one from my neglected collection that didn't need any TLC before it was useable. It does feel good in the hand and I like the retro 80s look, but there's no magic when it comes to shooting for me. I’m a sucker for some satisfying dials, of which the P50 has none. My next roll is loaded in a Yashica Electro 35 CC, a rangefinder, which will be new territory for me. But that's for next time. For now, here's the Pentax doing its perfectly competent job.
